The Fifth of July!!

Sunday, July 6, 2008

After a busy Friday, Saturday proved to be quite eventful as well. Matt and I headed out early - Matt to the card shop, and I to Walmart to pick up a shelf for the bathroom. Upon our arrival home, we found Daniel sitting comfortably on the couch playing Xbox - namely the game Turok which he conquered after 8 hours as I put together my shelf and Matt put cards on ebay. All three of us enjoyed steak and potatoes on the grill, headed out to Gillies for a sweet treat and then decided to get out of the house and head over to Brian's house for a little bit.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the band Mullet-ov Cocktail (sorry if I misspelled that, guys) jammin' away in the living room! Pete was rockin' the bass and Nick was the drumset master.
Brian, of course, was rippin' up the lead guitar!
Stewie took it upon himself to try to catch a moth with kitchen scissors...that's what playing Turok for 8 hours will do to you.
Brian, being the bandleader, calls for a break so we can sit and chat awhile.
Stewie sits in weird silence as we all talk. Seriously, Dan, no more Xbox for at least 24 hours! Seriously Dan! What did Turok do to you?!?

The Fourth of July!!!

Friday, the 4th - Whew! It was quite a busy day!

It started out with a delicious, homemade breakfast from the master himself. If you have yet to experience a breakfast by Matt, you are really missing out! Look at the care he takes in cracking the eggs!
Eggs over easy! What a beautiful flip job!
No talk - all focus.
Dan was delighted at the wonderful array of food for a late breakfast.
After stuffing ourselves on the magnificent food, we (Matt, Dan and me) met up with Pete among other people (Brian, Nick, Cheryl, Jim) to see the movie Hancock.
Matt and the boys stayed for another movie, but I was on my way out to my first cookout of the day.

Cookout #1 - Cathi and Jesse's house!

This is Cathi - the cute hostess of the first cookout I went to. She is a new addition to the blog, but hopefully you'll be seeing more of her! She and I go WAY back to classic McDonald's days. She is AWESOME! And she knows how to throw a successful cookout! Cathi's hubby, Jesse was the grillmaster.
Goofy Chuck and Sweetie Jenny stop and strike a pose for the camera.
Cathi showed me her newly remodeled bathroom. She had to beautify herself before our intense games of volleyball! :) Love you, Cathi!!!
After sunning, volleyball and chatting, it was time for me to head out to my next cookout!

Cookout #2 - Bug and Bobbie's House

Baby Eleanor was doing tricks on the floor for everyone! I'm not sure she was ready for the flash photography to document her rolling over. Matt was jealous that Eleanor was hogging all the attention so he decided to show everyone his trick of fitting his entire body into the dog cage. Luke wasn't impressed by this situation and wanted in!
And there the two of them sit.
Brian - or as we call him, Special - speaks of his many adventures of being a young stud. Watch out ladies!Eleanor sits comfortably in Angie's grasp. Angie is happy to help out mama Bobbie!Bobbie is happy to take the help! Here she is on a much needed break with a much needed Bud Light! The many faces of Dwayne...according to him. Here he claims that he looks gay - he does kind of have that stance...and with Matt behind him - hmmmm...
Happy Dwayne! But he still wasn't happy with how he looked...so

He took a fierce self-portrait. Don't mess with Mean Dwayne!Bug and Matthew are ready for the fireworks to start!!
Here is the stash. Get lighting boys!!
There they go to get the show started!
Dwayne chose rather to spark up a ciggy than the dangerous fireworks. A few shots of the show...

We had a GREAT day! Thanks to all involved for showing us a good time with great friends!!

Random Pictures from the Dark Side

Recently, Matt, Brian and I went to visit Pete in his humble abode. Matt took it upon himself to try on Pete's Darth Vader helmet for kicks. It was pretty funny. Pete also wanted in on the action so Matt shared part of the helmet with him.
Matt said even with the helmet on he was still smiling! Hilarious!
My tall, handsome and DARK man and me.

Rollin' with the Homey

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

I picked up Katie tonight for some hang time. We headed to Sebastians for some dinner and chit chat.

The first official pic of the new car had to include a spokesmodel. We were rollin' into Sebastians in style!

Thanks for hangin' with me Katie despite the awkward waitress drama! You rock!! I'll be thinkin' of you early next week! Good luck with the landscaping and the crazy neighbor animals!

Out with the Old...

We said good bye to an old friend this past weekend. With the trouble mounting on the Linc - we decided to trade 'er in and get ourselves some new wheels. Matthew poses one last time next to his baby.
He just can't understand why she decided to go to shit on us! Why?? WHY???
I tried to look sad in this pic, but secretly, I was welcoming the change. hehehee....
A last happy pose in our Lincoln LS. Never again will we have to deal with V8s, premium gasoline and non-heated seats.
The next day after our wheeling and dealing, Matt drives her down to the Saturn dealership to turn her over.
The new car!!(well this is a pic from the web) I haven't taken any official pictures of our new Saturn Aura in all of her beautiful blackness (the car in the pic kinda looks blue doesn't it). She's a sweet ride! More pictures to come of the real deal.An inside look!
After a long bout of buyer's remorse, Matt finally settled down and realized what a great deal we got and what a smooth, sexy vehicle we had just purchased!

Checking Up on Granny Zank

On Saturday, Matt and I headed out to Granny and Grampa Zank's house to check up on the patient - Granny. After her 2nd knee surgery, she's spittin' nickels and ready to run a marathon.

Don't be fooled by this pic. She's only laying there with ice on her knee to look like she's in pain. This is a tough lady everyone! It's hard keeping her down! :)
Matt gives his interpretation of how Granny will look using her walker - apparently you have to look like you have a load in your pants. Grampa Zank tells of his tale of the first time he ever soft boiled eggs - the previous day.
Betty looks a little stiff in this picture as she listens intently to her father speak. All this talk of boiling eggs makes Randy very hungry. Look at all that food!
Steve wishes he could soft boil eggs.Uncle Gary knows how to softboil AND hardboil eggs!
Jeano lights up at the sound of the words "Pizza at Ratch 'n Debs!" That's where we decided to go for dinner after our visit.
Crabby Brad took a break from drills and met up with us in Oshkosh to devour some pizza as well. That guy behind him looks scared.
