This summer Matthew decided to throw a surprise birthday party for Granny Zank!! She turned 70 years young this July. It was a GREAT time!

Tuesday, April 14th: First Brewer Game of the '09 Season

Tuesday night was the night of our first Brewer game (together - Matthew went to opening day with my pops). It was probably the coldest we've been tailgating. We chose to eat in the car it was so chilly. We walked down to the first few rows of the stadium to watch warm up which was cool, and then we settled in for a Brewer LOSS! Yuck....we ended up leaving in the 6th inning so we wouldn't get home too late. Hopefully we have better games in store for us this season - although things aren't looking very promising...
It was still great to get the QT with the hubby. We enjoyed our free tickets even if the Crew lost.

Andrew asked if I would "baby"sit Elmer on his birthday so he could go party the night away. Like a good "aunt" I agreed to do the job. WHAT A CUTIE! Stanley is still by far the best dog ever, but Elmer definitely stole a piece of my heart.

Friday, March 20th - Huhot!
Last Friday for dinner club, we decided to head up to Appleton and try our luck at Huhot Mongolian Grill. I was pumped and nervous. I LOVE stir fry, but I was nervous that my picky husband might not find anything he liked - boy was I wrong. Huhot is amazing!!
Glorious food! Matthew ate up every bite! He's becoming such a worldly eater! We couldn't quite get him to eat rice though - maybe next time!

Dan was also very impressed. He did struggle with fitting the 2nd plate in his belly.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I've never been much of a celebrator of St. Patty's Day, but what could I do when my pal, Kelley, calls me up 3 weeks prior to St. Patty's and instructs me to come out with her on that night. Because she was husbandless and because this is her most favorite holiday of the year, I couldn't let my girl down! SOOOO...we headed out for some green fun and beer - or the other way around. Forgive me for the quality of the pics - they are from my phone.

Dan was home on Spring Break! He drove Matthew and I to the celebration.

At Friday Dinner Club, there was talk of push ups. Matt told Dan of his weak attempt at doing 30 in 2 sessions and how exhausted he was after doing them. At that moment, Dan made a declaration. He declared to us with complete confidence that he could in fact do 40 push ups in 5 minutes! WHAT A FEAT! While the rest of us shrugged our shoulders and laughed at Dan's declaration, Matt went a step further and laid down a bet of $10! Figuring it was an easy bet, we all expected Dan to pay up. Below is video evidence of Dan's amazing talent. How could we have underestimated this "young" man?
Sunday, March 15th
Today, as you all know, was a beautiful day. Matt and I decided to hit the outdoors this afternoon and take Stanley on a nice long walk around town. It was wonderful. When we got home we hung out in the backyard soaking up the sun and enjoying my last day of spring break (whimper...).
Enough of this sitting indoors! Get outside woman!!
Matt sipped away at his energy drink so that he could keep his energy up while tossing the softball with me and then shooting hoops.
Brad and Tara came over as Matt and I were shooting around so we decided to hold our first PIG tournament of the season.
There she is...Tara is the first annual PIG tournament winner!
After PIG, Matt and Brad decided to show off some moves for the women.

For this Friday's dinner club, we decided to go to St. Cloud to the Idlewile Inn and Restaurant. The food was very good! It was Matt, me, Brian, Dan, Brad and Tara. Pete was supposed to join us but he suddenly fell off the face of the earth and lost his cell phone on the way down only to finally make contact with us the next day. Can you tell we were a little worried?
Before heading out the door, Bradley and Dan decided to warm us up with a little pre-dinner music.

I didn't take any dinner pics, but we stopped at a bar in Mount Calvary on the way home so I snapped a few. Here is Matthew, giddy as usual (what?).

Thursday, March 12th - Girls Night at The Melting Pot
On Thursday Kelly, Julie and myself made the trek to the Melting Pot for a gals night out. It was very fun and great way to have a fun night during our Spring Break! We had a weird waiter from Cali serve us dinner and ultimately annoy the hell out of us, but that's a long story.
We enjoyed some nice martinis as we devoured our fondue. Along with having an incredible deal on the food, we got martinis at half price! The night was bound to be a success!

The fondue was AMAZING! So much so that we licked it clean! Our lovely waiter also decided to make such a comment which added to our growing annoyance of him.
Kelly was starting to look very naughty. What was she up to?
It wouldn't be a girls' night out without...ANDY!!! He met up with us at McGinnis' (is that the name?) Irish Pub for an after dinner drink.
Well....most of us enjoyed our after dinner drink. Kelly downed her bloody mary in no time. What was she up to?
Andy and Julie were in deep convo about sickness and disease - namely pinworm (click the word to see info - ew).
Then, Kelly stole my camera. Her naughtiness was becoming more evident...
Due to the nature of the pictures she took on my camera and for the fact that family checks these blogs, I will not divulge the rest of the photos on my camera for her sake. This is one of the milder photos I discovered. Let's just say she wasn't acting as innocent as this picture depicts.
I then took control of her camera, but chose not to participate in the defacing of her property...
AWWW! JULIE!! She was really toughing it out for us.
