Tuesday, Dec. 9th - SNOW DAY!!

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

As I know all of you are aware, Snow Storm Carter blew through town today. And as many of my teacher buddies know, even the mention of a Winter Weather Warning gets us excited for a potential snow day! Being that I work in FDL schools, we don't always have the luxury of having snow days as much as a district like Rosendale, but when my tired eyes opened at 5:00a.m. in anticipation, I couldn't hold my excitement in as I saw "Fond du Lac public schools Closed" flash across the screen!

SNOW DAY!!!

You couldn't wipe the grin off my face today! I know we have to make it up, but I DON'T CARE!!
Matthew experienced his first snow day in YEARS! He didn't have to go in this morning either!!

After our 5:30a.m. shoveling adventure, we decided to kick back and sip some screwdrivers to celebrate. Then we cooked ourselves a nice big breakfast at around 10:30, took a nap and then hit the driveway again since the snow just wouldn't stop falling!I heard on the news that this is the 11th worst winter as far as snow fall since the year 1891! Insanity! It's ONLY December 9th!!
On our 2nd round of shoveling, Matt decided to try the old, temperamental snow blower. Thank goodness it worked like a charm.
Stanny was beside himself. He LOVES the snow. He can't get enough of burying his ball in the drifts and then diving in them head first to dig it out.
That's what I'm talking about! One of the many "death"cicles that has formed off the roof.
While putting back the snowblower, Matt came across some fireworks.
He pulled out some colored smoke bombs. What a beautiful sight against the bright white snow.Smoke bomb in action
