Tuesday, Dec. 9th - SNOW DAY!!

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

As I know all of you are aware, Snow Storm Carter blew through town today. And as many of my teacher buddies know, even the mention of a Winter Weather Warning gets us excited for a potential snow day! Being that I work in FDL schools, we don't always have the luxury of having snow days as much as a district like Rosendale, but when my tired eyes opened at 5:00a.m. in anticipation, I couldn't hold my excitement in as I saw "Fond du Lac public schools Closed" flash across the screen!

SNOW DAY!!!

You couldn't wipe the grin off my face today! I know we have to make it up, but I DON'T CARE!!
Matthew experienced his first snow day in YEARS! He didn't have to go in this morning either!!

After our 5:30a.m. shoveling adventure, we decided to kick back and sip some screwdrivers to celebrate. Then we cooked ourselves a nice big breakfast at around 10:30, took a nap and then hit the driveway again since the snow just wouldn't stop falling!I heard on the news that this is the 11th worst winter as far as snow fall since the year 1891! Insanity! It's ONLY December 9th!!
On our 2nd round of shoveling, Matt decided to try the old, temperamental snow blower. Thank goodness it worked like a charm.
Stanny was beside himself. He LOVES the snow. He can't get enough of burying his ball in the drifts and then diving in them head first to dig it out.
That's what I'm talking about! One of the many "death"cicles that has formed off the roof.
While putting back the snowblower, Matt came across some fireworks.
He pulled out some colored smoke bombs. What a beautiful sight against the bright white snow.Smoke bomb in action

Bored....

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

When I got home this afternoon, I had the huge idea of cleaning my house top to bottom and then relaxing for my looong weekend. Didn't happen. Came home, cooked dinner for myself and Matt - nobody else, and then had a glass of wine. While Matt was Xboxing, I sent a few dumb texts, got some letters ready to send out (Kelly, Julie, Kelley and Scott - be ready!) and then decided to bother Stanley who was fast asleep on the floor beside my chair. I'm a dork.

The staring contest
I could've fallen asleep right there...
This is when he got sick of me staring at him
When Stanny gets annoyed, he attacks you in the face with his tongue.
Crazy tongue

The Bakers + Verona Grove = Kick A$$ Show!!!

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Friday Night I had chaperone duty. Luckily it ended up being the most fun I've had chaperoning an event for school because it was a show featuring The Bakers and Verona Grove! I picked up Kelly and we headed over to school for a great show. Unfortunately not a ton of kids showed up, but the ones who did got to see an amazing show put on by both bands. I took a lot of pics, but the lighting was a bit rough on getting good pictures. I did my best.

The Bakers kicked a$$ to start off the show.
Zimmy (lil bro) rockin' out on the bass guitar.
The Bakers ROCK! This was taken before Eric (the drummer) nailed a girl in the head with his flying drumstick. He felt soooo bad!
Next up was Verona Grove. Tony wails away on the lead vocals. These guys are good!
GREAT SHOW! They have the #1 song on the Top 9 at 9 on WIXX! I can see why!

The Bakers made many fans that night - but these guys were over the top.
Of course Bud must please his fans and sign autographs- or mohawks, whatever ;)
After the show and cleanup, Riese and I met up with Verona Grove and Brandon from the Bakers at Joe's for some pizza (my brother ditched out for his woman!!). I can't say enough about how great these guys are. Very sweet, appreciative and amazingly talented and I've become a huge fan of Verona Grove for those reasons. Of course The Bakers are my #1 - Good job, gentlemen!

Granny's Got a Gun!

Sunday, November 16, 2008

On Saturday, we headed over to check out Bradley's latest purchase - his own house!! Congratulations Brad! It's a great bachelor pad!

Brad showed Granny how serious he was about protecting his house. He got out his firearm and Granny just couldn't keep her hands off.
She looked as if she was almost daring someone to step out of line. Don't mess with Granny with a gun!

Best picture I've ever taken in my life. Normally I wouldn't encourage someone to aim a firearm at me so I could snap a pic, but damn, I couldn't resist!!

Zank-a-Thon

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

The weekend before Halloween, Matthew, Daniel and myself decided to head up to the most recent Zank-a-thon at Matt's parents' house. It was a nice little getaway.

Awww...What a nice smi--GOOOOOO! Look at the the bullseye on his forehead!
Granny and Grampa with their honorary grandson, Dan.After dinner at Nappy's, we headed back for some downtime at the Zank estate. Emma decided to steal Stanny's bone and try to deep throat it. Whoa girl!
Matt, of course, had a full belly and started to doze off in the chair. If you haven't noticed from previous posts, Matt is quite the sleeper!

He must take after his Papa.
Dan had enough of all this sleeping! He threw Matt down on the floor and put him in a....Yep! It's a figure four leg lock!!
I think Matt was still sleeping.
That woke up Papa Steve and Mama Jeano! Suddenly they were dancing fools!

The next day, Dan braved the elements and actually stepped out of the house for a little guy bonding.
Dan's a regular old sharp shooter!Well, that's about it for this Zank-a-thon! This weekend we will be partaking in the annual Zanksgiving at Granny and Grampa's house - since they will hit the road soon in the RV! GRAVY here we come!

Sunday, October 19th - Tacos at DAN'S!!!

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Last Sunday we traveled down to Portage to indulge in tacos at Dan's apartment! It was a nice change from the norm! We were taking advantage of Daniel coming to FDL all the time. We knew it was our turn to hit the road.

Here's the host with the most himself!
Jason and Matt apparently didn't want to get too close to each other on the couch.

The appetizer spread! Thanks DAN!

Brian carted Matt's and my asses down to Portage. He was excited about the new taco experience.

Intently watching the Packers kick ass...

What a switch! Matt and I were able to kick back and put our feet up for once!

Relaxing in the Steward estate.

Jason lightened up and enjoyed the game.

Smile!

Matt's man toy, Aaron on the big screen.

Periodically Dan whipped out his trombone and played random pump up tunes!

At half time of the Packer game, Dan provided us with special entertainment that we will never find at any other Taco Sunday event. Thanks, Dan...
