Happy Mother's Birthday Dad Day!

Sunday, May 11, 2008

My mom - as you all know - on her well deserved Mother's Day. It was Dad's birthday on Thursday so we presented him with his present of Brewers' tickets with the whole family on May 31st.
Here is Matt nursing his erupting volcano zit. I decided to head outside for some quality dog time.

If you could see Stanny right now as I type, you wouldn't believe he had the ability to run like this today. He can barely move as he is a sore old man from running all day at Grampa's house.
Sammi's down for the count!
Matt decided to join doggy playtime.

Bud is writhing with hunger as he sits on the Zimmerman family couch.

Erin's boyfriend, Adam, yet again avoiding any and all contact with my camera.

Everytime we get together as a family, Erin drinks like a fish. This is her 17th old-fashioned. NOT! She is just so happy to be on my blog yet again.
Right before dinner, no one could find Matt. Where had he gone? What did we do to make him leave? Luckily at the last second of panic, I found him hiding in the corn crib looking for rats.
Matty and I are thankful for both Jay and Silent Barb during today's Happy Mother's Birthday Dad Day!
I tried to capture the spectacular noise our little Saturn currently puts out. It's a reliable little shit car, but DAMN does baby have balls! If only you could hear it for yourselves!

Friday night - Beauties and The Bakers

Friday night I had plans to go see The Bakers play at Barley and Hopps in Oshkosh. It turned out to be a girls night when Katie, Jenny E. and my sis joined me on my journey. It was a fun night of drinks, cute band boys, spilled beers, and well-lit meat market bars. If anything, it reassured us how old we all are...(not you Katie!:)
Katie joined me for dinner. She struck a pose at our bar table as we sipped our drinks waiting for our table at Sebastians.
Katie stole my camera and insisted she take a shot of me. I, however, was too hungry to be amiable and thus I did a non-chalant flick of the middle finger. I will do better next time.
Katie received a very perplexing text message while we were enjoying our salads. Here is a shot of her utter dread and confusion while reading the sweet, yet creepy words on her phone.
Katie and I picked up Jenny to join us for a night at Barley and Hopps in Oshkosh to watch my brother's band, The Bakers, perform. We made a quick trip to a Kwik Trip to grab some cash before the show.
Here's my little bro Andrew (or Bud as I call him) doing a little PR work before the show.
Tuning up and getting in the zone.
Andrew in action! He's a multi-talented young man. He plays bass, sings, writes songs and has some killer dance moves on stage! I'm a very proud sis!
The Bakers in action! These guys really did a great job! After they were done, Verona Grove took the stage to continue the night of rock.
Katie, me and Jenny posing for our band photo. We figured once we hit it big, this would be our album cover! I hope my freakishly big eyes don't scare the fans!

Softball Season is Upon Us!

Yay, Softball! Softball has arrived! Every Tuesday and Thursday Matt plays on a team for Clubbers. Tonight was their 3rd game (which they lost) but we always have a blast hitting the bar post-game. I apologize for not getting any action shots of the game, but I keep the book. I will try to get one of my henchmen in the stands to take pics at the next game. Go Clubbers!
The boys enjoyed themselves tonight after being beaten twice this week by the same damn team. How could you not suck it up and drink after that? From left we have Jeremy, Jimbo, Scottie, Schaefer, Toby and Matt.
Scottie gives the thumbs up. Unfortunately he was on injured reserve tonight so he enjoyed the game from the stands.
Toby and his dad (or as Matt called him, "Mr. Toby") enjoying a few at the bar. Aww! Eeg men are sweet!
Coach Jimbo runs the team and keeps everyone happy. Everytime we go down to Clubbers, this guy CONSTANTLY has a pitcher in his hands and runs around like a busy bee filling everyone's glasses even if they've only had a sip of beer gone. Every once in a while he indulges himself too as you can see!Jimbo takes time from his pouring duties to play some tunes.
This is Jess, Jimbo's wife, who is one of the sweetest girls ever! I caught her in a rare moment of unhappiness when Jimbo the pitcher god forgot to refill her beer.
Here we have Jeremy, Schaefer and Matt shootin' the shit. I'm trying to think of something clever to say about Jeremy's weak peace sign here....I'll come back to it later.
We had a mean skeeball tournament going. Toby's dad was a fierce competitor, but nobody could top the skills of Schaefer who posted a 330 game with ease.

Thursday, May 8th - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!!

Classic picture of the birthday boy. I know I used this pic in a previous post, but how can I not let this be his birthday pic? As you can tell, we had a lot of fun as kids with this guy running the show! I love you, Dad!!!!
A picture of Dad and me 20 some years ago. I was lucky enough to find this pic in time to send it to the entire staff at FHS on his birthday! He thoroughly enjoyed the response from everyone. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

All Work and No Play Makes Matt a Dull Boy!

Sunday, May 4, 2008

After a long day of grocery shopping, lawn mowing and major house and garage cleaning, Matt and I decided to enjoy the beautiful weather outside. Here are a couple of pics of Matt breaking in the hoop for the first time this season. Special message to Kelly from Matt: Bring it, sistah!
Look at that amazing form!

He scores! That black smudge is Stanley chasing after his ball.

He was dribbling so fast the ball appears to actually disappear! Be intimidated Auchue!

Day of Celebration!

This past Saturday was quite the day of celebration! Our night started out with a reception at the Legion Hall for Anna and Paul. They got married in February in Vegas and saved the celebration and dinner for friends and family at home. Not only was it a wedding reception, but also a softball team reunion!
The beautiful bride, Anna! Yes, you are seeing her behind the bar! She not only enjoyed the night of her life, but she ran it like a well oiled machine! She was behind the bar more than once making sure everyone was served and happy! She clearly reverted back to her McDonald's days!
Shelly visited from Illinois! That FIB! Here she is checking out my husband! Either that or she is making fun of how long it takes my camera to flash a damn picture!

The supportive Matts. Bug (Matt on the left), with his rosy cheeks and my Matt with his sweet smile tough out the night as their wives go crazy with the softball team on the dance floor.
Nobody can stop her! She was serving up shots, drinks and beers for quite a while!
Susie, Shelly and Laurie pose for a fierce shot.
The matriarch of our softball team, Lynn. From the looks of this pic, it appears that she might either be a midget (excuse me...little person) or there are some huge men behind her. You be the judge.
Here we have Susie (or as we call her, Q). At this point in the night she is suffering from extreme caffeine intoxication! This girl can pound the Pepsi like none other!
Here we have newly married Mel. I remember this girl from 4-H as a pigtailed little girl with glasses who was quite outspoken!! Stop with the 4-H jokes everyone!
Proud mamas, Shelly and Bobbie. All night they were flashing pics of their daughters - for good reason! They are CUTIES! I was just happy to have had a pic of Stanley on me to keep up with them! :)
Paul and Amberlie. What a strapping young couple! Paul does NOT have white man's dancing disease! This boy can MOVE!
Random dance scene. Break it down, Q, Amberlie and Bobbie!
I promised Barbie this trippy pic would make the blog. How could it not?? It's a good illustration of how people were feeling at this point in the night.
Me and Shelly right before I left for the night. I miss you Shel!!! Come back to us!
I caught the last couple of seconds of the softball team dancing to our theme song, "Toxic". It got a little blurry on me at the end, but at least you get to see some asses shaking before that!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KELLEY!!!

Saturday, May 3, 2008

Today is Kelley's birthday! She's heading out on the town tonight where we'll hopefully meet up with her happy ass! She always looks this cute, folks!!! Happy BIRTHDAY!!!
We did in fact meet up with Kelley at The Coliseum for her 28th Birthday! Here she is looking cute as always! She was involved in a very serious game of video bowling when we arrived. Luckily she was able to pause for this great shot! I love this girl!!

Kelley's hubby, Toby and Schaefer argue about who is the better video bowler.

Toby and Kelley taking cherry bomb shots after they lost their game of bowling. Kelley was rather excited about losing which brings up suspicion of whether or not she threw the game for the sake of taking shots...hmmmm.

After leaving The Coliseum, we headed to Dillingers for a drink. Kelley and I had the main goal in mind of seeing a new and improved Doughnut. You'll have to ask us if you want to know what the hell that means. Dilly's was crowded as ever so after sticking it out in the stuffy, sweaty meat market atmosphere, Matt and I headed to Taco Bell for a late night no-no snack.
