Here we go! Off to the Big Apple!

Matt reads his ESPN mag on the flight to ease his fear of terrorists. ☺
Upon our arrival to our hotel, we were told it would be a 4 hour wait to check in. So we headed to Bubba Gumps for lunch and enjoyed the view of Times Square out the restaurant window!Let's take another look! Underwear model alert!

After lunch we headed back to the hotel to sit and relax. This was a nice view of the inside.

Matt was a little tuckered out from watching the underwear model. He's such a sleeper!

Finally! We got into the room. It was very nice! It oughta be for the money we dished out for it!

I personally really liked the view! I was ready to hit the town! Here's the main reason for our visit, JAMIE!!! My dear Jamie is moving on to Amsterdam in a few short weeks (or months) for her job at Tommy Hilfiger! She took us out on the town.

Jamie and Ryan. Ryan quickly became Matt's NY friend. Ryan went to Madison with us back in the day. He's a cool guy and very much marriage material...(Jamie?)

After a night out with James and Ryan, Matt and I ventured out for the day in the big city. Times Square is really something to see!

Radio City Music Hall.

We headed to the "Top of the Rock" - at Rockefeller Center. It was amazing!
I know Matt looks pissed off, but the sun was in his eyes apparently.

There are those pearly whites!

Stunning views on a crystal clear day.

A view of Central Park.

After our descent from the Top of the Rock, Matt and I enjoyed a Rocktini in the Rockefeller Center Bar. The last time we were at this bar, we were with Jamie and we had each ordered 2 drinks that totaled a bill of around $50-$60 bucks. YIKES!

We really wanted to go to the Late Show with Letterman again like we did last time, but he was on hiatus. BUMMER!
We still got to see a Late Show regular! IT WAS RUPERT! The Hello Deli was actually open too!!!A closer look. We should have asked him to take a pic with us. Oh well...
We found Matt's Grill!

On our way into Central Park

Matt and I were amazed at how close the softball diamonds were in NY. It's crazy, but wouldn't you like to see that backdrop during a game? It's not quite Lakeside Park.

Sheep's Meadow where most people hang out and sun themselves.

The weather was just gorgeous. It was a great day for a stroll in the park.

The fountain in the park.
A hoola hooping granny! Hilarious! She was really good! These guys were called the AfroBats. They were cool street/Central Park entertainment. I put some of the highlights into this video.

After Central Park we started heading back to the hotel.
The Plaza Hotel.

Once back to the hotel, we were tired and hungry. And obviously a little weird.
Matt was quickly falling asleep again so I had to think fast. So we decided to head up to the top of our hotel to go to dinner.

The restaurant was called "The View" and was on the 48th floor of our hotel. We had the buffet which was outstanding. The crazy thing - the hotel actually rotated so you could see a full view of the city! It was the coolest thing we'd ever experienced! I thought this psychedelic pic was cool.

After our incredible dinner, Matt and I hit the town and just walked to see the city at night.
It's crazy how lit up and alive this place is at night. This is the main setting for Project Runway! One of my favorite shows on Bravo!

We found an Irish bar and had a couple of drinks. The camera was a little close up I guess...

We went back to the bar in our hotel and I took a pic of us in the mirror on the ceiling.

Matt suffered through his weak grasshopper - they don't make grasshoppers the same as they do here.

I had a wonderful Sangria. Unfortunately my excitement was halted when I received the $30 bill for both drinks...GOOOOO!!
Day 3 in NYC Matt and I decided to hop a train and head down to the Financial District to see WTC and Battery Park.I reassured Matt that there would be no terrorists on the subway.Ground Zero.
I found this pic online (obviously) taken in 1992. Matt and I saw this exact sight (clearly without the tower behind the arch) as we strolled around and it's just amazing to us that those buildings could have once stood there. We wished we could have seen the towers before 9/11.Everything is gated off and restricted. It's still very sad, but it looks like they're working their butts off to make some progress. It's a huge construction city down there now.

There she is! Statue of Liberty.
We didn't go to see her up close this time, but this pic is one I took 3 years ago on our first trip to NYC. It's one of my favorites.

After our daytrip, we headed back to the hotel to wait for Jamie to pick us up. Matt was a little giddy.

So was I...

This is a view of the elevators in our hotel (New York Marriot Marquee). These bastards can move!!!

Matt fell asleep again...

Jamie!! After 2 1/2 long ass days in Times Square, Matt and I were ready for downtime in Brooklyn with this chica.

Matt yet again looking as if he might fall asleep...geez! We needed to keep him busy!
So we headed to a Mets game! This is the last year for Shea Stadium. The new stadium is standing just to the left of it! You can see it in this pic!We really did have great seats! It was cool to be in a different stadium! It was also great to enjoy their delicious Italian sausage/pepper sandwiches! Yummy!

Matthew and I were pumped to be there!

Mr. Met!
Jamie and me. It was great to hang with her again!

This is a great pic even if that dipshit in the back got in there.

The view from the top of the stadium.

Jamie took us out and about the next day. Here we are posing in front of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Chinatown. Very cramped, very crowded and kinda stinky... Little Italy. It had a cool little festival going on. It was a cool area.
After checking out a cute farmers market, we rested in Madison Square Park where Matt bonded with a pigeon. Eww..
The Flat Iron building.Hilarious! A pose down in the Subway. The funny thing is, Matt had NO IDEA what he was posing for.
Dinner at probably the BEST Italian restaurant I've ever been to. It was a little place in Brooklyn Jamie took us to. Amazing! The staff was so sweet and very attentive and the food was outstanding!Look at this sexy beeyotch! I'm gonna miss you, James! You can bet I'm gonna try my damned-est to come and visit you in Amsterdam! Thanks for the great visit! I miss you!
