Random Documentation of My Boys...

Sunday, October 26, 2008

While looking at the internal memory of my camera today, I found some very random pictures of the men in my life - Matt and Stanley. Thought I'd post them for the heck of it...

This is Matt caught in the midst of what I call "masterboxing"! You want fries with that??Whenever Matt masterboxes, Stanley hides upstairs. This is due to the fact that Matt yells and swears like a dork at the top of his lungs at the stupid game he is playing.

Stanley doesn't chase rabbits....he STARES at them. He will sit in the yard and watch rabbits and squirrels almost as if he were a freaky, psychotic animal voyeur. He learned this behavior after we told him numerous times not to chase them on walks. Oh well...
This pic was apparently taken this August. Matthew must have been stir crazy. He was unusually wound up and energetic... Check out that bod!
Here's video of how weird he was that day... Please take note of how Matt bears his teeth at Stanley - WEIRD!

Summer?? Fall?? Make a Decision!

Monday, October 13, 2008

Stanny and I decided to hit the road for a walk in the sunny, beautiful 84 degree weather on Sunday. Fortunately it's still October and this weather is amazing. UNfortunately, I dread the coming of Winter because I'm sure we'll feel the pain upon it's arrival. Here are some shots of the Fall colors around FDL - Beautiful!

Hey Auchue! Stan and I walked our morning route so these pics should be familiar - oh wait, we usually can't see this stuff that early.

Stan was PUMPED to get out into the beautiful weather. Unfortunately he and I BOTH underestimated the heat because by the end of the walk, his tongue was hanging farther out of his mouth than I had ever seen and he was desperately trying to walk in every shadow he could find. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and I was dripping sweat when I got home. YIKES!
Some of the trees on 4th street are so cool! They are reddish/orange from a distance, but have this golden yellow color in the middle.
Nice illustration of the struggle between the seasons.

Stan sniffed this leaf for like 5 minutes.
He sniffed everything for 5 minutes. Of course in addition to sniffing this tree, he had to mark it as his territory as well.
More shots on 4th street

The sun was relentless! I loved it, but MAN 84 degrees is HOT!
Stanny spotted a squirrel and slowed up the pace to stare at it in anger.
Rienzi Road
We got much needed relief for a little bit as the sun hid behind a screen of clouds.
Hopefully you all got to enjoy the weather as well. Beware! The farmer's almanac apparently says that this upcoming winter is suppoed to be WORSE than last winter! UGH!

Saturday, October 4th - COURTNEY!

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

I went to visit Courtney this weekend down in Elkhorn! It was a nice little getaway after a loooong depressing week. The way is never long to the house of a good friend.

To get ready for our gals' night out, Courtney ask that I color her gorgeous locks a luscious brown.
Success! No more grays! We were off!

This is Cooper her cutie cat.

At Comedy Sportz we made several attempts at taking successful picture...

Again and again and...

Finally we hit a pretty pose.

Thanks for the awesome weekend, Courtney! I miss you already!! See you soon!!!

Sunday, Sept 28th - "See You in Heaven"

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

My grandma died on Sunday. I saw her on Saturday to say goodbye. It was rough, I'll be honest. She was in and out - sometimes talking gibberish, sometimes showing some humor. It was scary, sad and at the same time comforting knowing she would be at peace and truly happy again very soon. When I sat at her bedside to hold her hand and speak with her one last time, I was lucky enough to hear her say that she loved me more than anything in the world. She thanked me for coming to see her and asked me for a kiss before I left - which of course I gave to her. I told her I loved her and to say hello to grandpa when she saw him to which I'm almost positive I heard her say, "I'll tell grandpa that on my way to see him, I had to stop and talk to a few people before I left." I'm so glad I was one of those people...

I love you, Grandma. God Bless you and keep you at peace always. I'm so happy now that you're happy....

Friday, Sept. 26th - Gals Night.

Sunday, September 28, 2008

Friday night ended up being sisterly bonding night since Erin's Adam was at a Brewer Game and Matt decided to masterbox for the night.
Stanley was the only boy invited to our fire.
We decided to crack open a bottle of the bubbly. It had been a long time since I'd had champagne. It was having weird effects on both of us.

Stanny was a trooper through our antics.
At the close of the night, I OF COURSE had to put the fire out! It was quite a process - one that my husband found to be unsuccessful. Thank goodness he saved our lives that night by re-checking the fire.

Best for Last - Thursday, Sept. 25th

Thursday was the last Brewer game we were able to enjoy this season. As you all know, it's been a season of highs and lows. Since we bought these tickets 2 months ago, we weren't aware at that time of the gravity of this game. The Crew was still in the hunt for the Wild Card and this game would determine if they'd continue to contend. It was quite a worrisome night.

Matt was tensed up to begin with.
I was bummed that this would be my last Brewer game of the season. It was hard to enjoy the tailgating experience. Hopefully the game would raise my spirits.

Upon entering the stadium, we received a Brewer Towel, a 2009 schedule and a voucher for a FREE ticket! It was fan appreciation night. What a great way to start the game! This was our view from 9 rows off the field.
Despite the slow pace and uneventfulness of the first 7 innings, Matt and I were pumped to be in the park.

Kelly and Andy were also able to enjoy the game! Here they are from their seats (ok, it's just a random circle, but they are up there somewhere!)

After 9 innings of regular play, we were still tied 1-1 with the Pirates. Then my boy Braun strolled up to the plate with the bases loaded.

Amazingly he hit a walk off GRAND SLAM! It was the coolest thing I've ever seen!

It's been a great season. We got to at least 9 games this season and hopefully we'll get to more next season! Now they're in the PLAYOFFS baby! GO BREW CREW!

Friday Dinners are BACK!

Saturday, September 20, 2008

Last night was the first official Friday dinner club gathering of the fall season. It was Brian, Dan, Pete, Matt, Brad and me. It's been awhile and long overdue to get these dinners back up and rolling. We're always looking to add more peeps to the club! Bobbie & Bug? Kelley & Toby? JOIN US!
Last night we headed to Kodiak Jacks in Oshkosh.

While at the bar, Dan refused to be seen sitting so close to a Budweiser product. He was insulted and annoyed at the placement of Budlight Lime in front of him and Brian after Brad had anonymously sent them over. Brian, however, seemed quite excited!
What!!?? Pete eases the tension in the air by consuming his first ever beer - NOT. While at dinner, the conversation was quite intense and enthralling. Again, the debates ranged from religion, politics, adultery, health care and cigarette smoking. It was a meeting of the minds.
Pete wishes he would have really drank that Bud Light Lime so he wouldn't have to suffer through the crazy debates.
Brian and Bradley contributed strongly to the arguments by dismissing Obama as a person because he smokes. That bastard!
Matt was surprisingly quiet and rather chose to sit back and admire the intelligent banter between his men.
Me and Matthew were excited that Friday Dinner club was back up and running.
Bradley drove his hot car to our house to continue the heated debates.
The arguing, conversing and debating went on for hours at the Zank household where we solved literally every problem the world is facing at present.
